The second word, dignitarian, seems to have come into usage sometime in the 1990s and has been further popularized by Dr. Fuller and the Dignitarian Foundation (http://www.dignitarians.org/). Dignitarians are people who safeguard the dignity of others and work toward a dignitarian society. Writings which cite dignitarian include works on the law, religion, civil society, human rights, bioethics (cloning and stem cell research), and deep democracy. A Google search of dignitarian could turn up over 9,000 links.
